Swimming - 2006/02/04 23:51 My daughter competed in the State YMCA swim meet today.

Her relay team took first in the 200 medley by about a half second. Pretty good showing.

She took fourth in the 100 back stroke.

She is now qualified in 10 events for Northwest Regionals to be held in Moscow, ID next month.

Just thought I would gloat a bit

Re:Swimming - 2006/02/11 21:35 Well done thats impressive.
I am hopeless at swimming but my school friend another Adrian was really good and eventually won a Gold Medal for the 100 meters breast stroke...I sometimes wear the team T shirt he gave me...but its getting a bit tight, I guess these things shrink

Re:Swimming - 2006/02/12 00:52 Yes indeed. I just found out that this group of twelve year old girls had a better time than the Stayton High School girls swim team had at their District Meet!

If they keep this up, then I expect we will have a chance at the National YMCA meet next year. (They have to be 13 to be eligible for Nationals)

Their coach is pretty pumped too.

Swimming - 2006/02/14 14:55 My friend Adrian's motto "never ever give up"

Here he is winning gold at the Seoul Olympics of 1988 by 0.01 of a second, thats about 1/4 of an inch ahead of silver...

He rarely swims these days......

Re:Swimming - 2006/03/04 07:56 15th in the 200 IM last night. Not her best performance, but a slight improvement on her time.

Today looks like a long day. Very small venue for such a large event.
