Skype - 2006/02/25 21:10 Anybody got Skype?

I just downloaded it, but have not had a chance to try it out. Chat and web telephony.

Might be fun.

Re:Skype - 2006/03/01 23:14 Folks, if you have not downloaded Skype, do so.

This is free telephone - anywhere in the world.

All you need is your computer, an INTERNET connections, and a headset for the computer.

Amazing, simply amazing.

We can set up the site so that we can talk to each other (up to four at a time). You have noticed that on the right side, under the menu it says who is on-line. We could simply ring the person up if they show on-line.

Check it out. Great stuff.

Re:Skype - 2006/03/05 12:32 I thought that you had to have broadband to use it. My connections are all on barbed wire and I can't afford to bring a cable 3/4 mile to the house.

Besides, I don't like talking on the phone.

Re:Skype - 2006/03/05 22:25 Well, we have DSL, which is a tad faster than barbed wire

Wife and I kept in touch using Skype while I was in Moscow with the swim team. I found the connection to be better than if I had been using the phone. And, it didn't cost a penny.

Re:Skype - 2006/03/06 11:15 We have a joke around the Eagle Point area. If you look out in the pasture and find your fence wire has been cut, look for the phone company. They are replacing phone lines.

We don't have access to DSL either. Although I am told that the lines run down hwy 62, 3/4 mile away.
